On June 20, 2020, a group of Logistics faculty from various universities and colleges in Ho Chi Minh City conducted an insightful visit to CASS – the first automated fresh produce preservation warehouse in Vietnam using Controlled Atmosphere (CA) technology.
During the visit, Ms. Quach Thi Le Chan, the Director of CASS, introduced the lecturers to the application of CA technology in fresh produce preservation, combined with the Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS). She then guided the delegation through the warehouse’s new import-export processes.

After the tour, Associate Professor Dr. Ho Thi Thu Hoa, Director of the Vietnam Institute for Research and Development of Logistics (VLI) and lecturer at Ho Chi Minh City University of Transport, shared her thoughts: “Two years ago, during a workshop organized by Japan in Vietnam, Japanese experts discussed CA technology. Despite significant interest, no Vietnamese entity had applied this technology until now. At the 2019 Agricultural Logistics Forum, the Prime Minister noted that solving logistics issues is crucial to enhancing the value chain of Vietnamese agricultural products. Therefore, we are delighted and encouraged that CASS has become the first in Vietnam to successfully apply CA technology in fresh produce preservation. CASS will serve as an inspiration for Vietnamese enterprises to integrate Vietnamese agricultural products into the global market.”
